--- title: "Dacor oF: the wine column is in Cooling Off mode" description: "What oF means on Dacor oF: the wine column is in Cooling Off modes, what to check before booking, and when it is not a failure at all." url: "https://winecoolerrepair.center/error-codes/dacor-of/" --- # Dacor oF: the wine column is in Cooling Off mode Cooling Off, also called Demo mode, is for showroom floors. ## What oF actually means. Cooling Off, also called Demo mode, is for showroom floors. The fan motor and lights keep working, but the compressors do not run, so the column never gets cold, and the temperature display shows oF instead of a temperature. Dacor wine cooler display · also shown as Cooling Off, Demo mode What to do when oF shows on the wine cooler ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure A setting someone switched on, often by leaning on the touch panel or left over from the showroom floor, rather than a part that wore out: a demo mode that lights the display and the rack lamps while the cooling never starts, a Sabbath setting that turns off the lights and alarms, a child or control lock that ignores every key press, a reminder that the glass door stood open. The cabinet is fine, and its own keys or its manual switch the mode back off. ### Usually leads to No repair Check that the Lock indicator is off; Lock has to be released first. ### Shows up as Wine Cooler Error Code A wine cooler error code appears as letters and digits on the display, a flashing temperature, dashes where a number should be or a blinking symbol, sometimes with an alarm tone and sometimes while the cabinet stays perfectly cool. ### Make Dacor Dacor wine cooler repair for cabinets that hum, rattle, sweat on the glass or lose their temperature. ### Source Dacor DRW24980 wine column user manual Dacor DRW24980LAP and DRW24980RAP 24-inch wine columns. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Dacor's own guidance for oF on its wine coolers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Check that the Lock indicator is off; Lock has to be released first. 02 Press and hold Cabinet Light, Presenter Light and Lock together for 5 seconds. 03 Listen for the chime and check that the display shows a temperature again. 04 If the zones do not start cooling within a few hours, book a visit. ### Cleared? The display has gone quiet and the cabinet is back at its setting without a new part. Should the code reappear this week, or the reds start feeling warm again, book a visit and mention that it came back. ### What not to do oF does not mean the column is switched off or broken; the fans and lights are still running. Nor is it a number the sensors measured. ## What you may notice with it. The wine cooler problems oF tends to arrive with. Answer these at the wine cooler before anyone is booked. Check that the Lock indicator is off; Lock has to be released first. ### How did my Dacor column end up showing oF? Cooling Off mode is entered by holding three buttons at once, which can happen by accident or be left on from a showroom. It is reversed the same way. ### Will my wine warm up while oF is showing? Yes. The compressors stay off, so every zone drifts toward room temperature. Turn the mode off as soon as you see it. ### Why won't the three-button hold clear oF on my Dacor? Lock may be on; the manual says to release Lock before changing the mode. Hold Lock for 3 seconds, then try again. --- **[Read on the site: Dacor oF: the wine column is in Cooling Off mode](https://winecoolerrepair.center/error-codes/dacor-of/)** **[Book a visit with WineCoolerRepair.center](https://winecoolerrepair.center/schedule/)**
