On EI24WC10QS generation wine coolers, holding On/Off past OFF until VAC shows starts Vacation/Sabbath mode. The display, alarm indicators and tones, keypad tones, interior lights and options are all disabled, while temperature is still held at the previous setting. Electrolux wine cooler display What to do when VAC shows on the wine cooler ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure A setting someone switched on, often by leaning on the touch panel or left over from the showroom floor, rather than a part that wore out: a demo mode that lights the display and the rack lamps while the cooling never starts, a Sabbath setting that turns off the lights and alarms, a child or control lock that ignores every key press, a reminder that the glass door stood open. The cabinet is fine, and its own keys or its manual switch the mode back off. ### Usually leads to No repair Hold On/Off until the display shows the temperature again to leave VAC. ### Shows up as Wine Cooler Error Code A wine cooler error code appears as letters and digits on the display, a flashing temperature, dashes where a number should be or a blinking symbol, sometimes with an alarm tone and sometimes while the cabinet stays perfectly cool. ### Make Electrolux Electrolux wine coolers serviced in the home, from a cabinet that will not start to one that never stops running. ### Source Electrolux use and care guide 242332800 (EI24WC10QS / EI24WL10QS, IQ-Touch) Electrolux EI24WC10QS and EI24WL10QS IQ-Touch wine coolers (use and care guide 242332800). The newer EI24WC15VS uses Sb. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Electrolux's own guidance for VAC on its wine coolers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Hold On/Off until the display shows the temperature again to leave VAC. 02 Check the cabinet temperature, since no alarm could sound while VAC was on. 03 If the unit will not leave VAC, book a visit. ### Cleared? The display has gone quiet and the cabinet is back at its setting without a new part. Should the code reappear this week, or the reds start feeling warm again, book a visit and mention that it came back. ### What not to do VAC does not mean the unit is off or failing; it keeps cooling. A power cut does not end it, so VAC can still be showing after an outage. ## What you may notice with it. The wine cooler problems VAC tends to arrive with.
