Demo mode lets a dealer show the unit with the control panel and lighting working but the compressor off, so the cabinet does not cool. On the under-counter unit a demo symbol lights in the display; on MasterCool a symbol shows and the unit stays warm. Miele says it is not meant for home use. Miele wine cooler display · also shown as Demo mode symbol What to do when Demo mode shows on the wine cooler ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure A setting someone switched on, often by leaning on the touch panel or left over from the showroom floor, rather than a part that wore out: a demo mode that lights the display and the rack lamps while the cooling never starts, a Sabbath setting that turns off the lights and alarms, a child or control lock that ignores every key press, a reminder that the glass door stood open. The cabinet is fine, and its own keys or its manual switch the mode back off. ### Usually leads to No repair Look for the demo symbol in the display. ### Shows up as Wine Cooler Error Code A wine cooler error code appears as letters and digits on the display, a flashing temperature, dashes where a number should be or a blinking symbol, sometimes with an alarm tone and sometimes while the cabinet stays perfectly cool. ### Make Miele Miele wine cooler repair in the home, with each zone measured and the bottles left undisturbed wherever possible. ### Source Miele KWT 6322 UG operating instructions, demo mode Miele KWT 6322 UG under-counter units and MasterCool KWT 2602 and KWT 2612 wine columns. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Miele's own guidance for Demo mode on its wine coolers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Look for the demo symbol in the display. 02 Switch demo mode off in settings mode, following the steps in the manual for your model. 03 Give the unit several hours to cool, and book a visit if it stays warm with demo mode off. ### Cleared? The display has gone quiet and the cabinet is back at its setting without a new part. Should the code reappear this week, or the reds start feeling warm again, book a visit and mention that it came back. ### What not to do Demo mode is not a failed compressor. If the symbol is gone and the unit still does not cool, the sealed system, a fan or the control needs checking. ## What you may notice with it. Look for the demo symbol in the display. ### Why would a Miele wine unit be in demo mode at home? It may have left the showroom that way or been switched on by accident. Turning it off in settings mode restores cooling. ### Is demo mode the same on the under-counter unit and MasterCool? The idea is the same, cooling off with controls working, but the steps to switch it off differ by model. ### Demo mode is off but nothing is cold. What next? Run the self-test on a MasterCool column if possible, then book a visit. --- **[Read on the site: Miele wine unit not cooling with controls working: demo mode is on](https://winecoolerrepair.center/error-codes/miele-demo-mode/)** **[Book a visit with WineCoolerRepair.center](https://winecoolerrepair.center/schedule/)**
