Demo mode is a showroom setting on the Freedom wine columns. It switches the cooling function off while the display, lights and other functions keep working, so the cabinet slowly settles at room temperature. Thermador's troubleshooting table lists it as the cause when the column is not cooling but the display and lighting are lit. Thermador wine cooler display · also shown as Demo mode switched on What to do when Demo mode shows on the wine cooler ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure A setting someone switched on, often by leaning on the touch panel or left over from the showroom floor, rather than a part that wore out: a demo mode that lights the display and the rack lamps while the cooling never starts, a Sabbath setting that turns off the lights and alarms, a child or control lock that ignores every key press, a reminder that the glass door stood open. The cabinet is fine, and its own keys or its manual switch the mode back off. ### Usually leads to No repair Open the settings menu, move to Demo mode and switch it off. ### Shows up as Wine Cooler Error Code A wine cooler error code appears as letters and digits on the display, a flashing temperature, dashes where a number should be or a blinking symbol, sometimes with an alarm tone and sometimes while the cabinet stays perfectly cool. ### Make Thermador Thermador wine cooler service for cabinets that run cold, run warm or fog up behind the glass. ### Source Thermador Freedom wine column Use & Care Guide, troubleshooting Thermador Freedom wine columns T18IW905SP and T24IW905SP with the menu display. The under-counter Wine Reserve has no demo mode in its manual. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Thermador's own guidance for Demo mode on its wine coolers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Open the settings menu, move to Demo mode and switch it off. 02 Keep the door shut and allow several hours for the zones to reach their settings again. 03 If the column stays warm with demo mode off, book a visit; the cooling system then needs a technician. ### Cleared? The display has gone quiet and the cabinet is back at its setting without a new part. Should the code reappear this week, or the reds start feeling warm again, book a visit and mention that it came back. ### What not to do Demo mode is not an error and no part has failed. If the menu shows demo mode off and the column is still warm with the lights on, the compressor, a fan or a sensor is the likely cause. ## What you may notice with it. Open the settings menu, move to Demo mode and switch it off. ### How can a new Thermador wine column be in demo mode? It can be left on after a showroom display or turned on during setup from the settings menu. Switching it off in the same menu brings cooling back. ### Did my wine suffer while the column ran in demo mode? The cabinet drifts toward room temperature, which ages wine faster but rarely harms it over a few days. Keep the door closed while the zones pull down. ### Demo mode is off and the column is still warm. What next? Run the self-test from the settings menu, note anything it shows and book a visit. --- **[Read on the site: Thermador wine column lit but warm: demo mode is still switched on](https://winecoolerrepair.center/error-codes/thermador-demo-mode/)** **[Book a visit with WineCoolerRepair.center](https://winecoolerrepair.center/schedule/)**
