Whether the water sits outside or inside the glass tells two different stories. Outside, it comes from the room: warm humid air touching glass that is colder than its dew point. Wine coolers use double or triple panes with an insulating gas fill and a UV coating to keep the outer pane near room temperature, and some add a low-power heater in the door frame; a lost gas fill, a failed frame heater, a very humid summer or a zone set far below 55°F can let water bead on the outside. Inside, the water comes from air that should not be there, slipping past a gasket that no longer seals, or from a drain that leaves water standing in the cabinet. Moisture between the panes, where no cloth can reach, means the seal of the glass unit itself has failed.
