What Brentwood does
to a wine cooler.

Los Angeles annexed Brentwood on June 14, 1916, as part of Westgate, a 49-square-mile tract that also took in much of today's Pacific Palisades.

North of Sunset the neighborhood follows the ridges and canyons of the Santa Monica Mountains, while ocean breezes give it a temperate climate and frequent morning marine layer.

Modern building in Brentwood began after the 600-acre Pacific Branch of the National Home for Disabled Soldiers and Sailors opened nearby in the 1880s.

LADWP, the utility for Brentwood, has begun a complete review and update of its Wildfire Mitigation Plan following the early-2025 fires in Los Angeles.

Built-in wine columns

A built-in wine column set beside matching columns is fitted into cabinetry cut to its size, and repairs work from the front, through the base grille and the door, without pulling it from its opening.

Patio wine storage

A wine cooler on a patio needs an outdoor rating, and an indoor unit placed outside meets sun, rain and night humidity that fog its glass, rust its racks and keep its compressor running for most of the summer.

Family houses

Kids and pets bump wine cooler doors and lean on them, and a hinge worked loose that way leaves the seal gapping at one corner, so a family's service call often starts with the door and ends with the gasket.
