Three short steps, about a minute.

What the form asks,
and why.

The technician reads your notes before setting out, so the sensor, fan motor or gasket your cooler takes has a better chance of riding along. Sending the form binds you to nothing, and a price only comes after the diagnosis.

Have the model number to hand if you can find it: where the model plate is covers the usual places.

Step oneThe cabinet and its trouble

Undercounter, wine column, freestanding or dual-zone, the make, and whether the bottles are warming, one zone has drifted, the glass fogs, it hums nonstop, it rattles or it leaks. From that we choose the technician and load the likely sensors, fans and gaskets.

Step twoWhen it suits you

Morning or afternoon, on whichever day works around dinner guests and the rest of the week.

Step threeGetting to the cooler

Where the cooler stands, whether that is the kitchen island, a dining room, a home bar or the basement, and a number the technician can ring on the day. Say whether you rent or own, and mention any gate code, parking note or pet we ought to know about.

After you book,
the visit.

The three steps above are the booking. These four are what happens once a technician is in your home.

What repairs cost
01

Each zone measured first

The technician measures each zone and the air leaving the grille, listens to the compressor or the cooling module and the fans, and checks the door seal and the hinges while the cooler runs.

02

A figure before any work starts

You get the diagnosis and the price together, then decide. When a replacement cabinet would serve the collection better, the technician says so plainly.

03

The usual wine cooler parts on board

Temperature sensors, fan motors, start relays, door gaskets and hinge parts often travel along. Anything specific to your model, such as a compressor, a thermoelectric module, a control board or a glass door, has to be ordered, and a model number in the booking lets us order it sooner.

04

Settled back at cellar temperature

With the new part in, the technician checks that the cooling starts, the fans turn and each zone is heading toward its setting, and tells you how long to let it settle before the bottles go back on the racks.

Before the
technician arrives.

Three things that make the first visit the only one.

What a code means

Leave the glass door shut

Each look inside lets warm room air in with the bottles. Open it only to take wine out, and if the wait is long, move the bottles you care most about to the coolest dark spot in the house instead of checking them again and again.

Record what the display says

Jot down the characters on the screen, or the icon that flashes and its count. Makers reuse codes for unrelated parts, so the brand matters as much as the code.

Make room around the cooler

Clear the stools, cases and boxes from in front of the unit so the grille, the door and the sides can be reached. It helps to know the day it began and anything unusual around then, like an outage, a move, a hot spell, fresh cabinetry built around it or a door left open overnight.

Where we
come out.

Nine metros. If your street is not listed, give the address in the form and we will say straight away.

Questions
about booking.

Is booking a wine cooler visit free?
Yes. Booking takes no deposit and no payment details. The technician diagnoses the cooler, explains the repair and its figure, and waits for your answer before touching a part.
Where does a wine cooler hide its model label?
An undercounter unit usually carries it on a side wall inside the cabinet or behind the lowest rack, a wine column along the inside edge of the door opening, and a freestanding cooler on the inside wall or the back near the cord. If it has faded or sits behind a full rack, book anyway; the technician reads it at the visit.
I would rather talk to someone. Can I book the wine cooler by phone?
Yes. You will find the phone line and opening hours in every page header. Both routes land with the same team, and the form works even when every phone line is taken.
Will you tell me if the wine cooler is past saving?
Yes, straight away at the diagnosis and with the reasons behind it, so you are never quoted a repair that makes no sense. A small thermoelectric unit with a dead module and a built-in column with a worn fan are very different decisions, and sorting out which one you have is part of what the visit is for.
