What Lockout Mode
actually means.

Lockout Mode is a Café feature for when you are away and want to know if someone opens the wine cooler. The door alarm sounds the moment the door opens, the interior light stays off, and a connected unit can send a notice to the app.

What to do when Lockout Mode shows on the wine cooler

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Café's own guidance for Lockout Mode on its wine coolers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Turn the mode off in the Café app, or hold plus and Control Lock together for 3 seconds on the panel.

02

Open the door again; the light should come on and the alarm should stay quiet.

03

If the alarm still sounds on every opening with the mode off, book a visit to check the door switch and control.

Cleared?

The display has gone quiet and the cabinet is back at its setting without a new part. Should the code reappear this week, or the reds start feeling warm again, book a visit and mention that it came back.

What not to do

Lockout Mode is not the child control lock, which only blocks the keys. It is also not a sign that the door switch has failed; the unit is doing what the mode asks.

What you may
notice with it.

The wine cooler problems Lockout Mode tends to arrive with. Answer these at the wine cooler before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

A setting someone switched on, often by leaning on the touch panel or left over from the showroom floor, rather than a part that wore out: a demo mode that lights the display and the rack lamps while the cooling never starts, a Sabbath setting that turns off the lights and alarms, a child or control lock that ignores every key press, a reminder that the glass door stood open. The cabinet is fine, and its own keys or its manual switch the mode back off.

In Café's own words

As soon as the door is opened the door alarm will sound.

Questions
about Lockout Mode.

Can I clear Lockout Mode myself?
Turn the mode off in the Café app, or hold plus and Control Lock together for 3 seconds on the panel.
Why is the light off when I open my Café wine cooler?
If the alarm also sounds, Lockout Mode is on and keeps the light dark on purpose. Turn it off in the app or with plus and Control Lock held for 3 seconds.
Can I use Lockout Mode on a Café wine cooler without WiFi?
Yes. The panel shortcut works without the app; you just will not get the phone notice when the door opens.
Is Lockout Mode the same as the child lock on a Café wine cooler?
No. The child lock, set by holding Control Lock for 3 seconds, only stops setting changes. Lockout Mode is about who opens the door.

Still showing Lockout Mode?

When you book, copy the code or the blink pattern as the display shows it, add the whole model number, and say whether the bottles still feel cool — a code gives the technician a head start.
