What VACATION MODE ACTIVE
actually means.

VACATION MODE on a True column is an energy-saving operating mode. When it is on, the display reads VACATION MODE ACTIVE and notes that the mode ends on the next door opening, so it switches itself off as soon as someone opens the column.

What to do when VACATION MODE ACTIVE shows on the wine cooler

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from True Residential's own guidance for VACATION MODE ACTIVE on its wine coolers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Open the door if you want normal operation back; True ends the mode then.

02

Check the zone temperatures after the mode ends.

03

If the display keeps returning to VACATION MODE ACTIVE by itself, book a visit.

Cleared?

The display has gone quiet and the cabinet is back at its setting without a new part. Should the code reappear this week, or the reds start feeling warm again, book a visit and mention that it came back.

What not to do

VACATION MODE ACTIVE is not a failure and not a warning about temperature. It is also not HOLIDAY MODE, which locks the set points for Star-K use.

A setting someone switched on, often by leaning on the touch panel or left over from the showroom floor, rather than a part that wore out: a demo mode that lights the display and the rack lamps while the cooling never starts, a Sabbath setting that turns off the lights and alarms, a child or control lock that ignores every key press, a reminder that the glass door stood open. The cabinet is fine, and its own keys or its manual switch the mode back off.
