What dE
actually means.

Demo mode on the EI24WC15V generation is started by holding Cellar Mode and the light button for 10 seconds. The display alternates dE and On, repeats that every few minutes, and any alert is switched off in the meantime, so a warming cabinet will not warn you.

What to do when dE shows on the wine cooler

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Electrolux's own guidance for dE on its wine coolers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Hold Cellar Mode and the light button together for 10 seconds; the display shows dE and OF.

02

Watch the temperature for the next few hours to confirm it falls to the setting.

03

If the cabinet stays warm with Demo mode off, move valuable bottles and book a visit.

Cleared?

The display has gone quiet and the cabinet is back at its setting without a new part. Should the code reappear this week, or the reds start feeling warm again, book a visit and mention that it came back.

What not to do

dE is not an error in the cooling system. OF shown after dE only confirms Demo mode has ended.

What you may
notice with it.

The wine cooler problems dE tends to arrive with. Answer these at the wine cooler before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

A setting someone switched on, often by leaning on the touch panel or left over from the showroom floor, rather than a part that wore out: a demo mode that lights the display and the rack lamps while the cooling never starts, a Sabbath setting that turns off the lights and alarms, a child or control lock that ignores every key press, a reminder that the glass door stood open. The cabinet is fine, and its own keys or its manual switch the mode back off.

In Electrolux's own words

When activated, the display shows alternatively “dE” and “On” for 10 seconds.

Questions
about dE.

Can I clear dE myself?
Hold Cellar Mode and the light button together for 10 seconds; the display shows dE and OF.
How did my Electrolux wine cooler get into dE mode?
Holding Cellar Mode and the light button together for 10 seconds starts it. The same hold ends it.
Why does dE flash every few minutes on my Electrolux wine cooler?
Electrolux has the unit repeat dE and On every few minutes so you know it is still in Demo mode.
Is my wine safe while my Electrolux wine cooler shows dE?
Leave Demo mode first, since alerts are off while it runs. Then check with a thermometer that the cabinet is at its setting.

Back to your everyday

Still showing dE?

When you book, copy the code or the blink pattern as the display shows it, add the whole model number, and say whether the bottles still feel cool — a code gives the technician a head start.
