What Temperature alarm
actually means.

When the temperature in one wine conditioning zone rises or falls by a set amount, its sensor button flashes, the alarm symbol flashes and a tone sounds. Miele's examples are switching the unit on, warm room air entering while bottles are rearranged, a large first load, or a power outage. The tone can be silenced, but the zone and symbol keep flashing until the temperature is back.

What to do when Temperature alarm shows on the wine cooler

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Miele's own guidance for Temperature alarm on its wine coolers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Tap the zone button to stop the tone, then check the displayed temperature of that zone.

02

Close the door and clear the ventilation gaps; give the zone a few hours after loading new bottles.

03

If the zone keeps drifting with nothing loaded and the door shut, move the most valuable bottles to a cool dark place and book a visit.

What not to do

A temperature alarm after loading or a power outage usually clears by itself and is not a failed part. A zone that stays out of range for hours, while the other holds, points to that zone's fan, damper or sensor.

Questions
about Temperature alarm.

Can I clear Temperature alarm myself?
Tap the zone button to stop the tone, then check the displayed temperature of that zone. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Can a Miele wine unit alarm for a zone that is too cold?
Yes. The alarm covers a rise or a fall, and the unit also has a heater that switches on when the room gets too cold.
How long should I wait after loading bottles before worrying?
Give the zone several hours with the door closed. A large first load is one of Miele's own examples of a harmless alarm.
Only the lower zone alarms. Why?
One zone out of range while the other holds points to that zone's airflow or sensor rather than the compressor.

Still showing Temperature alarm?

When you book, copy the code or the blink pattern as the display shows it, add the whole model number, and say whether the bottles still feel cool — a code gives the technician a head start.
