What CF
actually means.

Holding the Interior Light button for 3 seconds switches the panel between CF and CN, and the display briefly shows which one you picked. With CF the controls stay on while the door is open and fade 15 seconds after it closes; with CN they stay on all the time.

What to do when CF shows on the wine cooler

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Zephyr's own guidance for CF on its wine coolers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Read the two letters as a setting confirmation, not an alert.

02

Choose CN if you want the panel lit all the time, or CF if you prefer it dark with the door closed.

03

Hold the Interior Light button for 3 seconds to switch between them.

04

If the display stays dark in both settings, book a visit to check the control panel.

Cleared?

The display has gone quiet and the cabinet is back at its setting without a new part. Should the code reappear this week, or the reds start feeling warm again, book a visit and mention that it came back.

What not to do

CF does not stand for a cooling failure; it is a display setting. A cooler that is lit but not cooling is more likely in Demonstration Mode, shown by a slowly blinking R.

What you may
notice with it.

The wine cooler problems CF tends to arrive with. Answer these at the wine cooler before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

A setting someone switched on, often by leaning on the touch panel or left over from the showroom floor, rather than a part that wore out: a demo mode that lights the display and the rack lamps while the cooling never starts, a Sabbath setting that turns off the lights and alarms, a child or control lock that ignores every key press, a reminder that the glass door stood open. The cabinet is fine, and its own keys or its manual switch the mode back off.

Questions
about CF.

Can I clear CF myself?
Read the two letters as a setting confirmation, not an alert.
Why does my Zephyr panel go dark when I close the door?
It is set to CF, where the controls fade 15 seconds after the door closes. Switch to CN to keep them lit.
Does CF mean something is wrong with my Zephyr?
No. CF and CN only describe when the control panel stays lit.
What are LN and LF on a Zephyr display?
They are the interior light settings: LN keeps the lights on all the time and LF turns them on only when the door opens.

Back to your everyday

Still showing CF?

When you book, copy the code or the blink pattern as the display shows it, add the whole model number, and say whether the bottles still feel cool — a code gives the technician a head start.
