The display of a dual-zone wine cooler in a dim kitchen blinking a warm reading in its upper zone, the door closed on rows of unlabeled bottles.

Zephyr HI: the Presrv cabinet is above 73°F

Every Presrv manual uses the same limit: once the interior passes 73°F, HI replaces the temperature on the panel, and after an hour at that level the alarm sounds continuously.

What HI
actually means.

Every Presrv manual uses the same limit: once the interior passes 73°F, HI replaces the temperature on the panel, and after an hour at that level the alarm sounds continuously. At that point the wine is well above cellar temperature, so the cause needs finding quickly.

What to do when HI shows on the wine cooler

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Zephyr's own guidance for HI on its wine coolers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Push the door shut and run a finger along the gasket for a loose or folded section.

02

Check that the unit is not in Demonstration Mode (a slowly blinking R indicator).

03

Clear anything blocking the front vent and move the cooler away from direct sun or another heat source.

04

If HI stays with the door shut and the vent clear, move the best bottles somewhere cool and book a visit.

Still there?

It usually turns into wine cooler thermostat and sensor repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

HI is not a door alarm; an open door shows a flashing 00 after 3 minutes. It is also not Demonstration Mode, which shows no code at all apart from the blinking R.

What you may
notice with it.

The wine cooler problems HI tends to arrive with. Answer these at the wine cooler before anyone is booked.

Questions
about HI.

Can I clear HI myself?
Push the door shut and run a finger along the gasket for a loose or folded section. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
How long before a Zephyr HI alarm starts sounding?
HI appears as soon as the interior passes 73°F, and the continuous alarm follows after one hour. If you hear it, the cabinet has been warm for at least that long.
Can Demonstration Mode cause HI on my Presrv?
It can, because in that mode the compressor and fans never run and the cabinet slowly warms to room temperature. Look for the slowly blinking R indicator before anything else.
Does the full-size Zephyr column use the same HI limit?
Yes. The PRW24F01CG and PRW24F02CG manual gives the same 73°F threshold as the undercounter models.

Back to your everyday

Still showing HI?

When you book, copy the code or the blink pattern as the display shows it, add the whole model number, and say whether the bottles still feel cool — a code gives the technician a head start.
