What Door alarm
actually means.
On the under-counter Wine Reserve, the door alarm sounds once the glass door has stood open for 2 minutes or more, and the blue LED above ALARM flashes with it. On the Freedom wine columns the door alarm is a continuous tone that stops when the door is shut. In both lines it is a reminder, not a report of a broken part.

What to do when Door alarm shows on the wine coolerKind of codeDoor and seal
The cooler noticed its door open for too long, or a switch that never reports it closing. Often a rack slid out a little too far holds the glass off the gasket, the cabinet has tipped forward off level, or a hinge has sagged under a heavy door; now and then the door switch itself has failed. Warm air getting in shows as fog on the glass and a zone that will not settle.
Usually leads toWine cooler glass door and gasket repair
Replacing a torn or flattened gasket, resetting a door that no longer closes square, and repairing the glass door that keeps light, heat and humid air away from the bottles.
Shows up asWine Cooler Error Code
A wine cooler error code appears as letters and digits on the display, a flashing temperature, dashes where a number should be or a blinking symbol, sometimes with an alarm tone and sometimes while the cabinet stays perfectly cool.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Thermador's own guidance for Door alarm on its wine coolers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Close the door and listen for the tone to stop; on the Wine Reserve you can also press ALARM once.
If the tone sounds while the door looks closed, check that no bottle neck or rack is keeping it from sealing.
Run a hand along the gasket for cool air leaking out; a torn or flattened seal lets the door drift open.
Book a visit if the alarm sounds with the door firmly shut, since the door switch or its wiring then needs a look.

What not to do
The door alarm does not mean the cabinet is warm; that is what HI reports on the under-counter unit. A Wine Reserve that stays silent with the door wide open may simply have its alarm turned off by a 3-second press of ALARM, or be in Sabbath mode.
