What Self-test result
actually means.

Thermador's Freedom wine columns include a self-test program started from the settings menu. The column checks itself, shows any problem it finds, restarts, and then displays a message for 10 seconds that the test has finished. Thermador presents the result as information for customer service and does not publish what each message means.

What not to do

Running the self-test does not repair anything, and a clean result does not rule out a door or airflow problem. It is a way to capture what the control already knows before a technician arrives.

What you may
notice with it.

The wine cooler problems Self-test result tends to arrive with. Answer these at the wine cooler before anyone is booked.

Questions
about Self-test result.

Can I clear Self-test result myself?

Where do I find the self-test on a Thermador wine column?
Open the settings menu with its button and scroll to Self-test, then start it with the confirm key.
Will the self-test disturb my wine?
The column restarts after the test and returns to normal operation. Keep the door shut while it runs.
The self-test showed nothing, but a zone is warm. Why?
The test reports what the control can detect. A worn seal, blocked vents or a very warm room will not appear, so those are checked on the visit.

Still showing Self-test result?

When you book, copy the code or the blink pattern as the display shows it, add the whole model number, and say whether the bottles still feel cool — a code gives the technician a head start.
