Thermador LOCK light on: the Wine Reserve keys are blocked

The LOCK key on the under-counter Wine Reserve blocks every other key when it is held for 3 seconds, and its LED stays lit while the lock is on.

Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 709-0727

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Thermador's own guidance for LOCK on its wine coolers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Hold LOCK for 3 seconds until its LED goes out.

02

Try the temperature keys again; they should respond at once.

03

If the keys stay dead with LOCK off and Sabbath mode off, book a visit for the touch control.

Cleared?

The display has gone quiet and the cabinet is back at its setting without a new part. Should the code reappear this week, or the reds start feeling warm again, book a visit and mention that it came back.

What not to do

A lit LOCK LED is not a failed control board. Keys that ignore you with LOCK dark are a different matter and point to the touch panel or its connection.

What you may
notice with it.

The wine cooler problems LOCK tends to arrive with. Answer these at the wine cooler before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

A setting someone switched on, often by leaning on the touch panel or left over from the showroom floor, rather than a part that wore out: a demo mode that lights the display and the rack lamps while the cooling never starts, a Sabbath setting that turns off the lights and alarms, a child or control lock that ignores every key press, a reminder that the glass door stood open. The cabinet is fine, and its own keys or its manual switch the mode back off.

Questions
about LOCK.

Can I clear LOCK myself?
Hold LOCK for 3 seconds until its LED goes out.
Why won't my Thermador wine unit let me change the temperature?
If the LOCK LED is lit, the keys are locked. Hold LOCK for 3 seconds to release them.
Should I use LOCK before cleaning the panel?
Yes. It keeps a damp cloth from changing a setting or holding ON/OFF long enough to switch the unit off.
LOCK is off and the keys still do nothing. What now?
Check that SAB is not showing, since Sabbath mode also disables the keys. If neither mode is on, the touch control needs a technician.

Back to your everyday

Still showing LOCK?

When you book, copy the code or the blink pattern as the display shows it, add the whole model number, and say whether the bottles still feel cool — a code gives the technician a head start.
