What EC07
actually means.

EC07 is the lower cabinet thermistor. On a dual-zone Sub-Zero wine unit it tells the control how cold the lower section is, so the control is guessing while this code is active. The trigger is the same as on the upper probe: an open or short for 10 seconds or more, or repeated erratic readings.

What to do when EC07 shows on the wine cooler

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Sub-Zero's own guidance for EC07 on its wine coolers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Check the lower section with a thermometer in a glass of water left for an hour.

02

Cut power at the breaker for 30 seconds, restore it and watch for EC07.

03

If it returns, book a visit; until then keep door openings short so the lower zone stays as stable as possible.

What not to do

EC07 is not a warm alarm for the lower section; that is EC12. It is also not the lower coil probe, which reports as EC08.

notice with it.

Questions
about EC07.

Can I clear EC07 myself?
Check the lower section with a thermometer in a glass of water left for an hour. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
My upper zone is fine but EC07 is showing. Is that expected?
Yes. Each section has its own air probe, so a bad lower probe leaves the upper section unaffected. Only the lower zone loses its accurate reading.
Could EC07 come from a loose connection rather than a bad sensor?
It can. An open reading comes from a broken wire or connector as easily as from the probe itself, which is why the circuit is tested before a part is ordered.
Will the lower zone freeze my bottles with EC07?
It is possible if the control misreads the lower section as warm and keeps cooling. Watch the lower racks with a thermometer and book a visit if the code stays.

Back to your everyday

Still showing EC07?

When you book, copy the code or the blink pattern as the display shows it, add the whole model number, and say whether the bottles still feel cool — a code gives the technician a head start.
