What P1F
actually means.

P1F and P2F are the G5 probe alarms for zone 1 and zone 2. Perlick asks you to acknowledge the code; if it repeats within a week, service is needed. With a zone probe out, the control cannot hold that zone properly.

What to do when P1F shows on the wine cooler

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Perlick's own guidance for P1F on its wine coolers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Acknowledge the alarm on the display.

02

Check the zone with a thermometer over the next day.

03

If P1F or P2F returns within a week, book a visit.

What not to do

P1F is not a high or low temperature alarm; the zone may still be fine for now. The evaporator probe has its own code, PEF.

What you may
notice with it.

The wine cooler problems P1F tends to arrive with. Answer these at the wine cooler before anyone is booked.

Questions
about P1F.

Can I clear P1F myself?
Acknowledge the alarm on the display. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
What does acknowledging P1F do?
It clears the active alarm. If the probe really has failed, it returns within a week, which is Perlick’s signal that service is needed.
Is P2F possible on a single-zone Perlick?
Perlick uses zone 2 only on dual-zone units, so P2F belongs to dual-zone reserves.
Can the zone still cool with P1F?
It may, but not accurately. Keep a thermometer in that zone until the probe is replaced.

Back to your everyday

Still showing P1F?

When you book, copy the code or the blink pattern as the display shows it, add the whole model number, and say whether the bottles still feel cool — a code gives the technician a head start.
