What TCH
actually means.

TCH is the G5 high condenser temperature alarm. The condenser gets rid of the heat taken out of the wine, and when it cannot, it runs hot. Perlick’s first step is cleaning the coils, and its maintenance section recommends that every 30 days. TCX, extra high condenser temperature, goes straight to service.

What to do when TCH shows on the wine cooler

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Perlick's own guidance for TCH on its wine coolers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Switch the unit off at the master switch behind the toe kick, remove the front grill and brush or vacuum the condenser.

02

Make sure the grill is not blocked and the space in front of the unit is clear.

03

If TCH returns within a week, or TCX appears, book a visit.

What not to do

TCH is not a warm-wine alarm, though it can lead to one. It is also not the low condenser temperature alarm TCL, which is about a cold room.

What you may
notice with it.

The wine cooler problems TCH tends to arrive with. Answer these at the wine cooler before anyone is booked.

Questions
about TCH.

Can I clear TCH myself?
Switch the unit off at the master switch behind the toe kick, remove the front grill and brush or vacuum the condenser. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does Perlick ask for the condenser to be cleaned every 30 days?
Perlick undercounter units pull room air across the condenser from the front, and dust or lint builds up fast, especially outdoors or near a bar.
What is the difference between TCH and TCX?
TCH is a high condenser temperature you can often fix by cleaning. TCX is extra high, and Perlick sends that straight to service.
Can TCH happen outdoors in summer?
Yes. Perlick rates its units up to 105°F room temperature, and a hot patio plus dusty coils can push the condenser too hot.

Still showing TCH?

When you book, copy the code or the blink pattern as the display shows it, add the whole model number, and say whether the bottles still feel cool — a code gives the technician a head start.
