What UIX
actually means.

UIX is the G5 display communication alarm. Perlick asks you to reset power with the rocker switch or the breaker; if the alarm continues, service is needed. The unit may keep cooling in the meantime, but you cannot rely on the display.

What to do when UIX shows on the wine cooler

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Perlick's own guidance for UIX on its wine coolers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Turn the unit off and on with the master rocker switch behind the toe kick, or at the breaker.

02

Check the wine temperature with your own thermometer.

03

If UIX continues, book a visit.

What not to do

UIX is not a temperature or cooling alarm. It is also different from MEM, which Perlick lists as a main control memory problem.

What you may
notice with it.

The wine cooler problems UIX tends to arrive with. Answer these at the wine cooler before anyone is booked.

Questions
about UIX.

Can I clear UIX myself?
Turn the unit off and on with the master rocker switch behind the toe kick, or at the breaker. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
How do I reach the power switch on a Perlick wine reserve?
Behind the louvered toe kick at the bottom front. Perlick says to pull on each side of the toe kick to remove it.
Is my Perlick still cooling with UIX showing?
Possibly, since the control board runs separately from the display. Check with a thermometer.
What usually causes UIX?
Usually a poor connection in the display cable or a display that is failing. Testing on site tells which.

Back to your everyday

Still showing UIX?

When you book, copy the code or the blink pattern as the display shows it, add the whole model number, and say whether the bottles still feel cool — a code gives the technician a head start.
