What HI
actually means.

On Vinotemp's VT-DS15 and VT-DS24 built-in models, HI takes the place of the temperature once the cabinet air passes 73°F, and the buzzer joins in when it has lasted an hour. Vinotemp notes that loading many bottles at once or a door left slightly open can bring HI up for a short time, and that it should clear about 5 minutes after the door is closed.

What to do when HI shows on the wine cooler

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Vinotemp's own guidance for HI on its wine coolers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Close the door firmly and check that no rack or bottle neck is holding it open.

02

Wait at least 5 minutes; if HI clears, a fresh load or the door was the reason.

03

If HI keeps returning, unplug the unit, wait 5 minutes, plug it back in and watch it for a few hours.

04

If HI comes back after that restart, move the most valuable bottles to the coolest dark spot in the house and book a visit.

Still there?

It usually turns into wine cooler thermostat and sensor repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

HI is not a sensor code: the control trusts its reading, and the air really is warm. A failed sensor on other Vinotemp series shows E1, E2, EL or EH instead.

What you may
notice with it.

Questions
about HI.

Can I clear HI myself?
Close the door firmly and check that no rack or bottle neck is holding it open. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Is HI normal right after I restock my Vinotemp?
For a short while, yes. Vinotemp says a big load or a door not closed tightly can bring HI up, and it should go away about 5 minutes after the door is shut.
How long before the Vinotemp HI alarm starts beeping?
HI shows as soon as the air passes 73°F, but the buzzer only sounds continuously once that has lasted an hour. A beeping HI therefore means the cabinet has been warm for some time.
What if HI comes back after I restart my Vinotemp?
Then Vinotemp's next step is service. A HI that returns after a 5-minute unplug can come from a door that does not seal, blocked airflow at the vent or the cooling system itself, and a technician needs to find which.

Still showing HI?

When you book, copy the code or the blink pattern as the display shows it, add the whole model number, and say whether the bottles still feel cool — a code gives the technician a head start.
