Fisher & Paykel wine coolers,
specifically.

Fisher & Paykel sells two wine cabinets in the US: the 24-inch Series 11 Integrated Column Wine Cabinet for 91 bottles and the 24-inch Series 9 Integrated Wine Cabinet that fits under the counter for 35. Both have two zones with preset wine modes, and both report problems as F codes that Fisher & Paykel sorts into sensor, fan, heater and control groups.

The Fisher & Paykel lineup

What is particular
to Fisher & Paykel.

We service the RS2484VR2K1 and RS2484VL2K1 Series 11 column wine cabinets and the RS2435V2R1 and RS2435V2RT1 Series 9 under-counter wine cabinets. F code groups are the same across the wine range.

Wine modes instead of numbers

Each zone is set by a wine mode, Red, Cellar, White or Sparkling, with its own temperature. A zone that feels wrong is often in a different mode than the owner thinks.

Four beeps and an F code

When a problem occurs, the control gives 4 rapid beeps and shows an F code when the door is opened. Fisher & Paykel publishes which group each code belongs to, which points us to a sensor, fan, heater or control first.

A carbon filter per zone

Each compartment has an activated carbon filter, replaced about every 6 months; an icon lights when they are due. Stale air in the cabinet starts there.

Low vibration by design

The cabinets use a low-vibration compressor and oak shelving on full-extension slides. A new rattle usually means the cabinet is out of level or a bottle is touching something.

Parts

Carbon filters and shelving are stock parts; sensors, fans, heaters and control modules are ordered by model and serial number after the first visit.

Repair or replace

Both Fisher & Paykel wine cabinets are integrated into cabinetry, so a sensor, fan or control repair is almost always the better choice. A sealed-system failure on an older under-counter unit is the one case where replacement gets a closer look.

Questions about
Fisher & Paykel wine coolers.

What do F codes mean on a Fisher & Paykel wine cabinet?
Fisher & Paykel groups them: F3 to F10 and F50 to F55 are temperature sensors, F15 to F18, F56 and F57 fans, F11 to F14, F58 and F66 heaters or power, and F1, F30, F31, F59 and F67 control or communication. Each needs a technician.
Why does my Fisher & Paykel wine cabinet beep four times when I open it?
Four rapid beeps with a code on the panel mean the cabinet has found a problem. Note the code and book a visit.
How often should the carbon filters be changed?
Fisher & Paykel recommends every 6 months, and an icon on the control panel lights when they are due.
Why is there condensation on the outside of my Fisher & Paykel wine cabinet?
Fisher & Paykel says it is not unusual in periods of high humidity; wipe it dry. Condensation inside, with a door that does not close well, points to the seal.
