We work on Viking 7 Series integrated wine columns (FDWCIC7240, FDWCIC7300), Professional undercounter wine units (FWUI5152G, FWUI5242G) and earlier Viking undercounter wine units such as VUWC and DUWC models.
Columns with humidity control and carbon filters
The 7 Series column has two zones with dedicated evaporators, humidity control and two activated carbon filters. A musty smell or a filter reminder is part of normal upkeep on these, not a failure.
Messages behind the ALARM button
On the column, touching ALARM brings up messages such as Upper too warm or Power Failure, in the order they happened. After an outage the column shows the highest temperatures it reached.
Two cleaning intervals in one guide
The column guide asks for the condenser to be cleaned every 6 months in its message table and every 12 months in its maintenance section. We work to the shorter interval.
Undercounter units with vibration control
Viking’s Professional undercounter wine units use a vibration-neutralizing rack system and wait 30 minutes before showing dr for an open door.
Parts
Column parts are matched to the model and serial number; filters and control parts for the 7 Series come through Viking. Parts for discontinued undercounter models can take longer to find.
Repair or replace
A 7 Series column is a large built-in investment and is almost always worth repairing. On a discontinued undercounter unit with a failed compressor, replacement deserves a look.
