What is particular
to Marvel.

We work on Marvel Essential wine units (MRWC, MRWD), Professional wine units (MPWC, MPWD) and older ML models such as the ML24WB and ML24WSG. The control on the door tells us which code list applies.

A long door delay

Marvel Professional wine units wait 30 minutes before showing dr for an open door, far longer than most. A warm cabinet with no door alert does not rule out a door that was left ajar.

Vibration-damped racks

The Professional line uses what Marvel calls a Vibration Neutralization System to keep bottles still. Noise or vibration complaints on these units get a close look at the racks and mounts, not only the compressor.

Linked zones

On the Professional dual-zone unit the lower zone cannot be set colder than the upper, and moving one setting can move the other. We check both settings before treating a cold or warm zone as a failure.

Older keypad models

Earlier Marvel units show sensor codes such as Eu, EL and Ed, plus Loc and VAC for the lock and vacation modes. Ed is the one to act on quickly, since Marvel ties it to frost build-up and water on the floor.

Parts

Sensors, fans and controls are matched to the full model number. Parts for older ML keypad models can take longer to source than current ones.

Repair or replace

Most Marvel wine unit problems (a sensor, fan, door switch or control) are worth repairing. On an older ML unit with a sealed-system failure, comparing the repair with a new unit makes sense.

Can a Marvel wine unit be installed outdoors?
Marvel rates its Essential wine units for both indoor and outdoor use. Check the model before putting any other Marvel outside.
Why did my Marvel lower zone change when I set the upper zone?
On the Professional dual-zone unit, the lower zone cannot be colder than the upper, so Marvel adjusts it automatically.
What does Loc mean on my older Marvel?
The keypad is locked. Hold the Lock keypad until the display reads nLc to unlock it.
My old Marvel shows Ed. Is it serious?
Yes. Marvel says to unplug the unit and have the defrost sensor replaced, since the unit may not defrost and water can reach the floor.
